Daily Deviation Ever been confused by the thirds ? Tutorial: Composition, part I by =arisuonpaa teaches us the basics of bringing elements of our imagery together to form a good composition.This tutorial will give us the heads up on "points of interest" and the "dead point" which is useful not only for digital imagery but other artistic media. nice thing to do dude, personally I always rely on my feeling as I have no official background in graphics and such and I dont think i could do any other way anyway, but it's always nice when someone decides to explain things to otherS;P

I almost never do enough planning when I start to paint, but this is a simple way of blocking out the picture beforehand that doesn't take too much time or patience - thanks :)

good stuff here, i have a habit of starting my light source dead center, and it's usually the primary focus but i try to go either side. i'll have to try your 1/3's cross section method next time i paint.

Very good tutorial of the basics of composition. You really don't see much of these around. This reminded me of some the basic things I should know and had almost totally forgotten about paintings so thank you for that.
